“Great day (again!) with Andres” We traveled to Chile in early November with another couple who had never been, so we took the Santiago City Tour by bike on the first day and then did a full day bike trip to the coast the second day.
My husband and I have done two previous Santiago bike tours with Andres, so we knew he would show us a good time!
We had a spectacular day riding toward the coast and then down to a secluded and nearly empty beach. Andres' wife, Ines, prepared a picnic that was so delicious.
We biked along a country road with an incredible view over mountains and pastures; the area was very peaceful, and it was great to be out of the city. It was springtime in Chile, and we had wonderful weather with perfect temperatures and tons of blooming flowers along the route. Andres and his team do a fantastic job attending to all the details ensuring you have a fun and trouble-free day.
They are enthusiastic about their city and country and will do all in their power to provide a first-class experience.
BikeTours is a wonderful way to spend time in Santiago and surroundings.

Is there anything better than riding a bike?... Oh YES! Riding a bike along with Andres Garrido through the central Valley in Santiago towards the Chilean coast!

I usually don't write any type of recommendations, however this trip really worth it!
I had a weekend in Santiago during a work trip through South America and didn't wanted to go to the crowded ski resorts near Santiago so I decided to contact Andres who along with Carola prepared a very unique and promising tour around the Casablanca Valley towards Algarrobo, El Canelo Beach, Peña Blanca and then the next day coasting in rolling hills to Tunquen and finally ending at Quintay with a wonderful setup in a small family restaurant with a fire and great service waiting for us.

Needless to say that Andres and his team are very caring to us people who like the bike and not so popular places to visit. He waited for me on Friday night at the front door of my hotel with saddlebags for my gear, the next day at 9am sharp the truck was ready with MTBs well geared and ready to ride.
Carola dropped us on the bus station to take a bus to Villa Alemana where we started to pedal away towards the beautiful famous valley. We passed through several famous vineyards and ended pedaling in a breathtaking road full of eucalyptus (Las Dichas) where we took a delicious lunch including homemade mushroom soup, gourmet sandwiches and coffee! Andres surprised me as he was carrying all these and much more on his own saddlebag!
We kept pedaling at a great pace along the way to Algarrobo. Andres has an amazing ability of pedaling at any pace you want even with a heavy load on his bike! I did an Ironman a month ago and he was at my pace all the time... WOW!

The last day was a gift! we went to one of his best kept secrets in Tunquen with a breathtaking view of a spectacular virgin beach, then a long downhill and a stop for lunch right on the beach. The day ended in Quintay after a long climb with still beautiful roads full of pines and country roads with 115kms on our legs and almost 5000 burned calories!

If you like to indulge yourself while sharing your bike passion with a fantastic host and human being, don’t hesitate and contact Andres, he and his team will surprise you for sure and you will end with a new and very special friend! Can't wait to do the ride through the mountains to watch the Condors in the Southamerican spring! a good excuse to escape of our winter...

A trip that turned out simply ES.PEC.TA.CU.LAR!
