What a bike and wine tour! We biked in the Casablanca and Colchagua Valleys around some of the most scenic landscapes in this part of the country. A one-of-a-kind bike and wine tour cycling lovely country roads through Chile’s breathtaking farming landscape of Casablanca and Colchagua Valleys. Day 1
Founded in 1541, Santiago is the action-packed capital of Chile. A multi-faceted city, in the last 20 years has undergone a well-deserved makeover, waking up from “The Ugly Duckling Complex” to become one of the most vibrant Latin American Capitals.
In this warm-up ride, we biked to the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, where we admired the extensive city. Great views and lots of fun!
Day 2: CURACAVÍ TO CASABLANCA VALLEY
The profound yet simple essential products of the Earth provided the main course of this bike tour through extensive vineyard-flanked country roads in Curacaví and Casablanca Valleys.
We enjoyed impressive views and absorbed the captivating beauty of Chile and taste the renowned white wines and fresh reds of Casablanca. This off-the-beaten-path route was a Paradise in one of the most impressive at one of the best-producing wine-regions in the country.
Day 3: CASABLANCA TO TUNQUÉN BEACH
We spent the night Valparaíso and then took the route to Tunquén. We pedaled alongside pastoral meadows and pine forests following our route to the remote beach of Tunquén that we reached after pedaling an undulating road. White sands, native vegetation, and the often storm-tossed Pacific Ocean provided unforgettable memories.
Day 4: SANTO DOMINGO TO MATANZAS
We headed south along winding country roads and inland charms just begging to be discovered. Our aim today was reaching the breathtaking beach of Matanzas, a secluded spot that only recently has gained a well-deserved recognition on the tourist map of Chile. What a view! It was a lovely ride and we enjoyed every mile of slopes and fun
Day 5: NAVIDAD TO MARCHIGÜE
Today’s biking adventure took us along the Central Zone of Chile to get a flavor of our deepest traditions and the culture of this part of the country, away from the throngs of tourists. The gentle landscapes at Navidad and the peaceful rhythm of the countryside enveloped us, in an invigorating combination of biking and culture. This route provided unforgettable memories!!
Day 6: POBLACION TO LOLOL
Endless vineyards and the sweeping vistas of the valleys were the perfect companions for today’s ride. We reached Lolol and then we got back to Población for lunch. In the afternoon we explored the tranquil city of Santa Cruz, the amazing museum and the local life of a vigorous city dedicated almost exclusively to wine-associated activities.
Day 7: SANTA CRUZ TO VIÑA VIK
Our route today took us to remarkable places where time has stood still for centuries. We departed at Santa Cruz and headed to Viña Vik, one of the newest additions in this remarkable valley.
Our route took us along old country roads, we reach Las Azudas de Larmahue, the century-old wooden water mills still working in Chile and Spain show the human ingenuity to solve in a simple way complex engineering problems. Larmahue is a unique place, little known even by the Chilean people.
We finished our tour at the exclusive Viña Vik, where we visited the impressive winery and had a tour and wine tasting.
